I’m writing to you as I get my luggage ready for our trip to Bucharest, Romania, where we play our second Champions League game. It’s a tough stadium, in which we had a bad result last season, but I hope we win so this time the story ends in a different way. We are looking forward to get the three points following our draw in the Premier League against Tottenham.
It’s not a bad result being White Hart Lane, yet I felt we could have won the match, especially with the team’s momentum in the second half. After Fernando was sent off, the last few minutes were tough for us… We must keep fighting because there are other teams that seem to be very strong now, such as Arsenal or Liverpool, although this is just the beginning.
In Spain, things in la Liga are very interesting as well. The Champions League teams played on Saturday, as we did, but due to the time difference I was able to follow those games. Barça won again, against Almería, with a superb goal from Messi to set a new record, although later he was unlucky and injured himself. Despite this great start, Atlético keep following Barça’s pace after winning the local derby against Real Madrid at Bernabéu. It was an intense match, with several chances and great performances by Diego Costa, Koke or Filipe Luis, for example.
Also, Valencia won again with a goal from Jonas, who is on fire lately. Two victories in one week to calm down. I’m sure Djukic’s project will get better. Elche also got a great victory in Vigo that helps to forget last Wednesday’s disappointment at home.
On Sunday, apart from football, I also watched the Cycling World Championships, which was really entertaining. After so many hours of race, Rui Costa beat Purito Rodriguez to win the gold medal. Spain was silver and bronze with Purito and Alejandro Valverde, respectively. This is a great way to end Purito’s good season. I don’t know him personally, but he is one of those guys you always wish to be successful in their sport, for his attitude on and off the road.
Now talking about our recommendations, I would like to dedicate this week to music. Whenever I’m home there’s always background music playing. I use to play different playlists with different styles. In the last few days I’ve been listening to Andrés Calamaro a lot; I started to like his music a long time ago… So I think it would be a good idea to create a playlist with your suggestions. For instance, we could start with the 80′s. Which are your favourite songs or bands from those years? I’m waiting for your answers!
Hugs to all of you, I’m going to rest now because we have to wake up very early for our trip to Bucharest. Thank you for being there! Have a good week!
